Well, it has been a long time. I've been busy getting a few new things going and haven't had much time to make new tutorials. Now that some of my projects are over I found some time to put together a new tutorial for you. It uses the SDS tools and the new hybrid mesh type in the new release of Strata CX to make threads of a screw. It may not sound like much but it will help you step up your SDS skills and transfer them to other projects you may be working on. Check it out here. Enjoy.

The new Introduction to Strata CX 5.0 is done! It took a while but I
think it turned out very nice. Anyway if you have been waiting for it you can
order here now. I have a couple of new tutorials
in the works so come back often to check them out. You will also notice some
advertizing on the site. I have tried to not put ads on but I need to support
my habit.

Wow, what a busy summer! It seems like yesterday and the kids were out for summer break and now they are going back to school! Well I have been working away at the new Intro to Strata CX 5.0 and it is almost complete. It has taken longer than I first expected but I think it's worth it. Look for some new tutorials in the next few weeks too. Thanks for all of your patience.

Sorry for such a long delay in updating the site. I have been busier than ever and not able to keep up with the content on the site. I hope that will change in the next few weeks. In the mean time I have posted a new interview with Dasch. He's a great guy and I hope he can inspire some of you with his fun work.
December 11th, 2005
Well the site was getting a little old so I decided to give it a little facelift.
I also have added some things to the site. As you may notice the Sock Thief
page. I have started an animated short using Strata CX so keep coming back to
see the progress. I will post stuff as I go along like story boards, sketches
and renderings. I am pretty excited about it. I will be getting back to updating
with some new tutorials and some other things. It always seems to take longer
than I want but I will keep plugging away. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year
to everyone.
September 21st, 2005
It's been a long busy summer! There is a new interview and another on its way.
I also put together a new tutorial on how to handle the appearance of objects
in the time line of CX. You can check it out here.
May 2nd, 2005
Well, with spring here I thought it would be a good time for a tutorial on how
to model a flower. My wife has some beautiful orchids blooming this spring and
she suggested I use them as my inspiration. Any way the new orchid tutorial
is done but it's long. It has over 60 screen shots and 4 html pages. You can
check it out here.
April 10th, 2005
It's finally done! The new traning video disks for Strata CX are here. The compression
gods were with me and I have all the videos on a two CD disk set. It's two hours
long and full of everything I could think of to get a user up and running fast
with CX. Check it out here.
Also, I will be updating the site more often now that some other projects will be off my plate. I have a new interview coming and some new tutorials. Stay tuned.
April 1st, 2005
Okay, so I missed the April 1st self imposed deadline. The good news is
that the new intro to CX video is complete! I just need to get it on disks
and packaging done. It won't be long now. It is going to be a 3 DVD set.
It's big and long. I will keep you all posted as things develop.

Well It has been way too long since the last update. I have been very
busy with allot of other projects that have kept me side tracked for a
while. I am happy to report that I am wrapping up production on the new
Introduction to Strata CX video tutorial. It looks like it will be a multi
disk DVD, 2 maybe 3 disks. It's going to be around a 2 hours of video
that will get the beginner up and running fast. My fingers are crossed
to have it available by April 1st. Thanks to all of you for your patience,
I know allot of you have been waiting for some time now.

all last week. Now they tell me. Anyway, if you tried to buy a training
disk and it didn't work you can now, they fixed their problem. Sorry for
the inconvenience. You can see paypals statement here...

Halloween is just around the corner and I thought it would be fun to make
a Scooby-Doo style ghost with the new SDS tools in Strata CX. This one
I also cover texturing and lighting. It is pretty heavy with screen shots
so be forewarned if you have a slow connection.
Check it out here...

I am finally done with the new Strata CX video tutorial disk. I know a
lot of you have been asking me when it would be ready, well it's ready.
This one is on CD and has 90 minutes of very nice, clear high res video
on it. It works on Mac and Windows, specify witch OS you have when you
order.
August 30th, 2004
It's been a while since the last update. I have added another CX tutorial
to the site. This one covers a couple of the new features in the first
update to the CX version. You won't want to miss this update. Also, I
have received some emails asking about a new CX tutorial disk. There is
one in production now and should be done pretty soon. Don't ask me when
because I don't like to give out deadlines and then disappoint people
if I can't meet them.
June 6th, 2004
Okay folks, here it is, the first Strata CX tutorial. It is a beginner
level tutorial for the new SDS modeling tools in CX. Take a look, these
new tools are very nice to have, it will open a whole new realm of modeling
to the lowly strata user.
May 26th, 2004
I have been busy with about six projects all at once the last few weeks.
One of them being a beta tester for the new Strata CX. WOW! this new release
rocks! I am working on a couple of tutorials for the site with CX and
if you buy the upgrade you get to see two new video tutorials I did for
the release. Be patient, there will be new tutorials up in the coming
weeks now that my plate has cleared a little.
April 15th, 2004
I have been busy working on a few things the last month or so and here
is the first. A new training DVD for Strata 3D pro. Three workshops on
the DVD and a companion CD with source files and 20 textures. Check it
out here.

Don't worry about the uboat tutorial it will out but I have been so busy
lately that it has hit the back burner. In the mean time check out the
new one I worked up. Photoshop
gurus should like this one.
January 7th, 2004
Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe how hectic the Christmas season
gets. It's been a while since the last tutorial, I'm sure you noticed
that too. Well, I have launched the character rigging tutorial for all
of you that have sent me requests to get that one up. Here ya go, check
it out here.
November 8th, 2003
I have put a new tutorial up that was really fun to do. It's an abstract
art one. Strata makes some pretty cool random geometry. you can check
it out here, abstract tutorial. So
far I have received very good feed back from the first training DVD so
I have begun production of the second one. It covers texturing in Strata.
I haven't been able to spend much time on the U-boat lately but I will
get to it, sorry if you have been waiting on that one.
October 20th, 2003
Halloween is just around the corner and while I was doing the pumpkin
patch thing with the family I thought it would be a good time to do a
tutorial using anti-matter to make a jack-o-lantern.
I also wrapped up the first Strata training DVD in a series of three.
I will be focusing on more tutorials for a few weeks before I start the
next DVD. Hope you all like the Jack-o-lantern
tut. Happy Halloween.
September 2nd, 2003
I can't believe how time fly's! I have been working on a couple of projects.
One of them for this very site. I think you will like it when I'm done.
In the mean time I put up a new tutorial. It's on particles and covers
a little on nested animations. Enjoy!
July 7th, 2003
If you haven't noticed I have added a forum to the site. It is mostly
for "how to" topics. If you have ideas or need help feel free to post
away. Also, I noticed on different OS's and browsers there were a few
issues. I am in the middle of working those out too.
June 25th, 2003
I have finished Part 2 of the P51 Mustang
tutorial. Check it out here. I've been working on a couple of new
tutorials. One is a character modeling and rigging one. That one
will take some time. The other one is a German WWII Uboat tutorial.
That should keep everyone busy until I get the character tutorial
done. The uboat should be up in a couple of days.
